Complete Sentences Exercise
August 11th, 2009A sentence must have a subject (the doer) and a verb (the action). Without both, the sentence does not express a complete thought, and it is a sentence fragment.
Identify each as fragment or complete.
- The mouse in the corner.
- The last thing I had to do.
- Angel read last night.
- Over the hills and through the woods.
- They took out the trash today.
- In hope of a better life, they set sail.
- His last words to his grandpa.
- The faster Kelly walks.
- Over a month to make the homecoming float.
- Greed overtook the senator.
- By the garden in the rain.
- The tall grass grew.
- She prepared for the soccer game.
- Computers help students.
- Two times last week.
- He ran.
- Rain on the golden hills.
- Smelling the scent of fear.
- The last thing I remember.
- A box arrived in the mail.
