Materials needed: Creative Ideas, Printer, Ink, and Clipart.

My son is homeschooled and hates English! For our back to school days…I created an English Word Wall… He LOVES Bugs so I chose the ever familiar Bumble Bee. I found all kinds of Bumble Bee Print-outs including some Christian ones and printed out several different kinds of bees. Pasted them on the wall above our couch and then we went to town.

Zach created Be Thankful, Be Good, Be Happy and Zachary is Busy As A Bee. We printed it out and taped them up.

Throughout the day he looked at the wall. I found a flashlight, pretended the electricity was off and we played on that wall with LIGHT all afternoon.

I had him find the words that I said out loud – Bee, Be, Good, Happy, Thankful, etc. Then I had HIM tell me a sentence for each one. We even wrote a haiku together about the word wall and posted it.

The flashlight was the clinker of all things it got him Learning. Since he was little he loved light — so I had him find the words that I said aloud with the flashlight as the room was dark. It turned out to be one learning afternoon even though Zach didn’t know it!!! And now he loves English!!!
